Syracuse produces a fair amount of good coffee, but this particular roaster is absolutely the pickiest for obtaining superior beans for the small batches he roasts right there in the window of the cafe. Matt doesn’t expect that just because you’re from Syracuse, you won’t know the difference between great beans and mediocre ones. People who have lived or traveled abroad find Cafe Kubal in their quest for a top-notch cup of coffee. Nothing else is good enough. If you want to understand why Cafe Kubal's fresh-roasted coffee is better than Starbucks' shipped-in bags of beans, just ask Matt. You'll get an education from someone who deeply understands coffee with all his senses. His devotion to very high quality is also reflected in the savory and sweet edibles he offers. Don't miss this place. It's worth the short drive to Eastwood from wherever you are.

This is far and a way the best coffee in Syracuse. I used to go to Freedom of Espresso, and I live by a Starbucks, but I go well out of my way to get coffee at Cafe Kubal.
